Dual Credit U.S. History is a college level class equivalent to LCCC HIST 231 and LCCC HIST 232. Upon completion of the course with a satisfactory grade of C or better, you will earn 6 hours of college credit from Lewis and Clark Community College while also fulfilling your Civic Memorial High School U.S. History requirement. This is a rigorous class that expects you to read and write at the college level.

It is recommended that you use a separate binder or notebook to take notes for this class. Your notes will help you tremendously when preparing for quizzes and exams.

You will be provided with a copy of the textbook for your use. Please make sure to take good care of this book. You will be charged a replacement fee if there is damage to the book beyond normal wear and tear. In addition, you will be writing a book report on one of the following books:

          The Jungle: Upton Sinclair, https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/140

You will be responsible for getting a copy of this book. The CM library has a few copies that can be checked out.

The following preliminary outline of the class for the 3rd Quarter gives you an idea of the pacing and the important test and due dates. The calendar is subject to change and will be updated periodically.
