Volcanoes

Students built models of volcanoes (shield, cinder, composite) and studied volcanic explosions. The simulations were matched wtih historical data to determine the risks of living by volcanoes.

Renewable Energy

Students built models of renewable energy sources, including water wheels, solar cars, solar ovens, and solar water heaters. The students took data measurements to determine effectiveness and compared them to real life data.

Probiotics Lab

Students studied the effectiveness of different probiotic supplements by adding them to growing medium and growing live cultures.

Insulation Lab

Students studied the effectiveness of different types of insulation when placed in solar radiation. Students interpreted their data and compared it to the use of insulation materials in different climates.
